There are a few things that should be known about this blog:
- I won’t be writing out any recipes from the book. Why is that? Because it doesn’t really seem fair to me. While I have no connecton with Keller or his resturants (I haven’t been to any of them as of Aug. 1st, 2009) it is not logical, to me, to write recieps to go with every post on this blog. A. Some of these are really long and I just don’t have the attention span for copying that much text and B. It’s not fair for me to do that. Amazon sells the book for $30 (which is $20 off of list price) and if that’s too much for you, it’s pretty easy to get (in the United States) via your library (if your local library doesn’t have it ask them to get it through interlibrary loan).
- Some of you, inevitably, came over from my other blog (knitguy.com) and while you presumably enjoy cooking and food you don’t necessarily want a full rundown on my progress (if I thought you did I would have just put my Bouchon posts on the knitting blog. What I will probably end up doing is do a weekly round up of everything that I’ve done on this blog and post it on the knitting blog in the form of pictures. Also, the Daring Bakers/Cooks posts will stay on my knitting blog.
- In regards to how I will keep track of the recipes I’ve cooked thus far, I made a lovely spread sheet of all of the recipes, not including the stocks and what not at the end of the book and a few recipes like duck confit that will be cooked inevitably in the process of cooking other recipes, (because yes, I am a dork) and if I get my act together there will be a progress bar on the side bar.
- I have no professional training what so ever nor do I have any real desire to be a chef, I just like to cook.
